Thesis Proposal: a proposal (subject and scope to be decided in consultation with the Advisor) should be submitted for department approval by October 15th of the 2nd year of graduate work. A Masters Committee: comprised of 1 Advisor and 2 Readers. Approved by faculty following the acceptance of the proposal. Thesis should be approximately #75 - 100 pages in length and an unbound copy should be submitted to the department no later than August 15 for the November degree*. Advisor and readers should receive unbound copies for review. Applications for degree are due to the Registrar’s Office on or before August 13 (for November degree). Travel and Research Funding: students may apply for Paine Traveling Fellowships and/or the Department Travel Fund. All fellowship funding is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
